The University of the Peloponnese inaugurated its new residence in Tripoli on 3 November 2026. The Education Ministry says the first students have already moved in. The 96 places raise the university’s housing capacity from 330 to 426: 232 in Kalamata, 98 in Patras and 96 in Tripoli. Undergraduates are allocated 84% of the new residence’s places.

The residence occupies the former Tripolis City Hotel beside the university facilities. The ministry lists five adapted rooms for people with disabilities, four guest units and study areas. Public funding of €2.48 million came from the National Development Programme through the ministry’s sectoral programme.

The 96 places describe total capacity. The inauguration notice does not open a new application round or specify how many places are still vacant.
