Guide: finding and downloading documents from gov.gr

How to distinguish an application, a draft and an issued reply in the Citizen inbox.

Updated 01.11.2026 · 07:45 · Athens time — What changed: download steps, the distinction between an application and KEP reply, and practical checks before sending a file were added after checking the official instructions again. This is not a new service announcement.

From search to download

Search gov.gr for “Citizen inbox”. The official navigation path is Citizen and daily life → Citizen details and identification documents → Citizen inbox. Continue through the authentication offered by the service. For Taxisnet login, the instructions refer to prior registration in the National Communication Registry to verify your mobile number.

After signing in, look for the completed document under Documents, open it and choose Download file where available. Drafts concern interrupted document-issuing processes; their presence alone does not demonstrate completed issuance.

Example: a KEP application and its reply

If you applied for a civil-registry certificate through a Citizens’ Service Centre (KEP), check which item you open. The application copy and KEP’s reply are different documents. To save the result, look for the issued reply and download that file. Seeing an application does not mean the certificate has already been issued.

Before sending a file

  • Check the document title and personal details to avoid sending the wrong certificate.
  • Check whether you downloaded the reply or merely the original application.
  • Check the receiving organisation’s requirements: a document’s presence in the inbox does not by itself determine how recently it must have been issued.

AppiSToS does not provide inbox login and does not need your credentials. Use the official portal, check its address before signing in and save the file somewhere you can recognise. This guide explains the process; it does not confirm an individual application’s status.
