An incendiary device targeted the building entrance early on Sunday. Claims about motive and intent are distinguished from investigative findings.

An attack involving gas canisters took place early on 1 November at the entrance of the building housing Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris’s political office in central Athens.

ERT reports damage to the entrance and windows and a police investigation. No identity of perpetrators or claim of responsibility is presented here as confirmed.

Institutional response

In an official parliamentary announcement on Sunday, Nikitas Kaklamanis condemned the attack and called on political forces to oppose violence. The statement is an institutional position, not an announcement of police findings.

What remains under investigation

The minister alleges homicidal intent, according to his post as reported by ERT. This is his allegation and is not presented as a judicially established conclusion.

Identification, motives and precise criminal classification require investigative evidence and the competent authorities. Condemning political violence does not replace that process or justify assigning collective responsibility to other groups.
