A bill from the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports entered public electronic consultation on 5 November 2026. The official OpenGov page accepts proposals and comments until Thursday, 19 November, at 10:00, Athens time.

The proposal for ASPETE and Athens University

The draft proposes integrating ASPETE into the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and creating a Department of Engineering Educators within its School of Education. It proposes a 300-credit programme, with the first student intake in 2027–2028.

Transitional provisions would allow existing students to continue the programme of their original department and receive a corresponding degree equivalent to the ASPETE award. These are consultation proposals, rather than a student transfer that has already taken place.

Other provisions

The official introduction also lists 600 established posts for clergy serving the diaspora, measures concerning special education and vocational training for people with disabilities, digital requests to KEDASY assessment centres, and football-match security provisions.

Interested parties may comment on individual provisions through the official platform. Consultation is distinct from parliamentary passage, Gazette publication and commencement; the final text may change.
