Education: 50 additional lessons from 9 November and a new school-renovation list planned

The ministry announces an expansion of the Digital Tutoring service. A list of 500 schools is planned by January 2027, while revising the remote-area map remains a proposal.

Greece’s Ministry of Education announced 50 additional lessons on the public Digital Tutoring service from Monday, 9 November, in a release on 7 November 2026 covering Minister Sofia Zacharaki’s address at the KEDE conference in Kalamata the previous day.

The announcement places development of a personalised AI assistant in the next stage. It does not establish that the assistant is already available to pupils.

When the next school list is expected

For the “Marietta Giannakou” programme, the ministry reports 669 renovated schools and plans to announce a further list of 500 schools for preparatory studies by January 2027. Inclusion on the future list should not be confused with completed work.

The targets presented are up to 300 renovations in summer 2027 and a total of 2,000 by summer 2028. These figures are the ministry’s announced plans, not a record of completed projects.

Remote areas: revision proposed

The minister stated an intention to revise the remote-area map before the next national election, taking account of demographic, geographic and social factors affecting school staffing. The release does not publish a new list of areas or an implementing act. This announcement therefore does not yet establish reclassification of any particular school or a new points-allocation rule.
