METLEN–Shell: binding LNG agreement with deliveries from 2027
Six cargoes a year for five years, approximately 0.6 billion cubic metres annually. The signing follows February’s memorandum.

METLEN and Shell Global LNG Limited have signed a binding long-term LNG supply agreement, according to the company announcement on 2 November and publicly accessible AMNA reporting.
Shell is to supply METLEN with six cargoes annually from 2027 for five years. The announced volume is approximately 0.6 billion cubic metres a year. Cargoes will come primarily from Shell’s US LNG portfolio for Greece or other European markets.
From a cooperation framework to a contract
The new development is the binding agreement following the memorandum announced in February. That original framework referred to 0.5–1 billion cubic metres annually during 2027–2031 and the use of Greek regasification infrastructure and the Vertical Gas Corridor.
What is known about cost
The new announcement does not disclose a contract price or pricing formula. It therefore does not establish a specific reduction in consumer bills. Deliveries concern a future period; signing does not mean the cargoes have already arrived.
