KTEL, 3 November: OSME’s 24-hour strike and checking services
The strike call is confirmed in the federation’s original announcement. It does not automatically establish cancellation of every urban and intercity service.

The Greek Federation of Transport Syndicates (OSME) has called a 24-hour nationwide strike at urban and intercity KTEL bus operators for Tuesday 3 November 2026. The date and duration are confirmed in its original four-page notice dated 30 October, published on the federation’s own website. ERT reported the mobilisation on 2 November.
Workers’ demands
OSME seeks a new sectoral collective agreement on pay and working conditions, wage increases, job protection and permanent recruitment. The statement that pay has remained stagnant for 17 years is the federation’s position, as are its allegations concerning employers’ organisations and OMED.
The court dispute
The same notice links the strike date to the scheduled hearing of OSME’s appeal before the Athens Court of Appeal concerning arbitration decision 8/2026. This records the union’s announcement of a scheduled stage in the case; it does not establish the outcome of any judicial ruling on 3 November.
Before travelling
The nationwide strike call is not a unified list of cancelled services. Each connection needs confirmation from the specific KTEL operator or terminal, using the departure point, destination and ticket time. Passengers should also check any booking or onward-connection changes with their carrier.
No participation rate, nationwide cancellation of every route or minimum-service staffing list is reported here, because those details are not established by the announcement checked.
