Thermal tourism: final payment applications due by 15 November

The eighth amendment changes the completion timetable and payment requests. What it provides for beneficiaries who did not submit a first request.

The final application for payment under the programme to upgrade existing or create new thermal tourism facilities is due by 15 November 2026. The deadline appears in the eighth amendment to the call, posted by the Ministry of Tourism on 2 November.

The signed decision is numbered 20535/30 October 2026, with publication identifier ΡΕ63465ΧΘΟ-Ι90. It is therefore a decision dated 30 October posted on the ministry website today. Completion of the call must also be no later than 15 November.

Beneficiaries who did not request a first payment

The guide retains 31 January 2026 as the deadline for a first payment request, with extensions for force majeure considered individually. Under the amendment, a beneficiary who did not submit that first request may submit one single, final payment request by 15 November 2026.

That request must also include the eligibility documents in Annex IV_2. This possibility does not mean automatic approval or payment. The decision states that beneficiaries must otherwise withdraw from implementing the investment, failing which the approval decision is revoked.

Documents for the file

Annex IV_2 covers, as applicable, lawful possession of the site and the right to use the thermal resource, private financing, evidence of the physical works and documents for the final payment. It includes operating permission or approval, a special operating licence or notification where required, and environmental approval if not submitted with the first request.

Financial documentation includes proof of payment and bank-account details. Before disbursement, tax clearance for receiving funds is required, as is social-insurance clearance for private-law legal entities and private businesses. Requirements vary by beneficiary and expenditure; the complete file must be checked against the guide and the individual approval decision.

15 November concerns payment, not new admission

The consolidated guide retains 15 September 2024 at 23:59 as the deadline for initial proposals. The new provision therefore does not open a new funding-application round and does not concern a spa-treatment allowance for individuals. It concerns implementation and payment of investments under the programme within the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
