New bomb threats prompted checks at European airports on Friday, 6 November. News organisations also received threats, including Ireland’s public broadcaster RTÉ, which evacuated premises in Dublin.

Copenhagen Police said officers were back at the city’s airport in response to threats against air traffic. Their initial assessment was that passengers and others at the airport had not been in danger. The investigation was continuing.

Reuters reported that a Wizz Air flight from Prague to Rome diverted to Venice and landed safely. No explosive devices were found in the incidents covered by the agency.

What investigators still need to establish

Britain’s Sky and Bulgaria’s Nova TV also reported threats. It has not been established whether the messages sent to newsrooms and the threats against flights came from the same source. Theories about the senders or their motives remain unconfirmed.
