The Athens Labour Centre’s executive committee has decided to hold a gathering outside the Finance Ministry on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at 11:00. Its official call to member unions is dated 3 November and is corroborated by ERT’s morning report on 5 November.

What the unions are seeking

The centre seeks a minimum wage determined through collective bargaining, recognition of 2012–2023 in seniority increments, and restoration of 13th and 14th salary and pension payments. Its demands also include tax relief, measures addressing essential-goods prices and housing protection.

These are trade-union demands, rather than announced government measures or new benefits already in force.

The statement places the gathering within preparations for an Athens-wide general strike on Wednesday, 25 November. It confirms the centre’s plans, without establishing a universal work stoppage or specific changes to transport timetables.
