Zverev secures ATP No. 1 ranking from 2 November
He beat Griekspoor 6–4, 7–5 in Vienna. The change takes effect in Monday’s rankings, the official tournament confirms.

Alexander Zverev secured the ATP world No. 1 ranking from Monday 2 November 2026 by beating Tallon Griekspoor 6–4, 7–5 in Vienna on 29 October.
Two official Erste Bank Open reports confirm the result and milestone. The German reached the ATP 500 quarter-finals and will replace Jannik Sinner when the next rankings are published. He secured the position now; the rankings change on 2 November.
He will be the 30th player to reach No. 1 and the second German after Boris Becker. The official report also confirms that he has secured year-end No. 1 honours.
The win does not make him the Vienna champion: the tournament continues, with Arthur Fery his next opponent in the quarter-finals.
