A physical-education teacher at a secondary school in Voula has been placed on automatic suspension from duties by decision of Minister Sofia Zacharaki, Greece’s Education Ministry announced on 16 October 2026, following allegations against the teacher.

According to the ministry, steps have been initiated for a sworn administrative inquiry to investigate the allegations and any responsibilities. The administrative process is proceeding alongside an investigation by the competent judicial authorities.

Separate stages, not a presumption of guilt

The newly confirmed development is the suspension decision and the official information about the investigation. These are neither findings that the allegations have been proved nor a criminal conviction. The announcement does not provide an administrative inquiry’s findings or a court judgment. We do not publish identifying details of minors or unverified details of the case.
