Bosnia and Herzegovina: three leaders emerge in provisional presidency results
The Central Election Commission has opened its official provisional results feed. Bećirović, Filipović and Cvijanović lead the three separate races.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Central Election Commission said on Sunday evening, 4 October, that voting had ended and directed the public to its official provisional-results platform.
First indications for the tripartite presidency
According to the first consolidated picture reported by the Associated Press, Denis Bećirović leads for the Bosniak seat, Darijana Filipović for the Croat seat and Željka Cvijanović for the Serb seat. These are three separate elections that make up the country’s tripartite presidency.
Cvijanović’s lead is politically linked to Milorad Dodik’s SNSD. Dodik was not a candidate, but remained central to the campaign. That is political context, not a separate election result.
What else voters elected
Voters also chose the state parliament, the legislatures of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, as well as regional and cantonal bodies. Those counts are separate from the three presidency races and should not be conflated.
New election technology, with problems at some polling stations
The election commission had announced that the 2026 vote would be the country’s first with biometric voter identification, ballot scanners and rapid result transmission. Reuters reported that technical problems temporarily interrupted voting at some polling stations. Recording those problems does not establish that the result was altered.
Provisional result, not final certification
The figures will change as more polling stations and remaining categories of votes are incorporated. Today’s leads are not yet final certified results. AppiSToS will update this same article when the Central Election Commission publishes a fuller count or official certification.
