Vehicles will take turns using the available carriageway, under the direction of traffic marshals, on part of Erythraias–Varympompis road, according to a Hellenic Police notice issued on 22 October 2026.

Location and hours

The works affect the direction towards Varympompi, starting at the junction with the Athens–Lamia national road at Varympompi interchange and extending for 1,500 metres. The notice specifies a start on 22 October and hours of 07:00–15:00, without a final date for the works.

Police describe a complete closure of the affected direction and explain that vehicles will pass alternately on the remaining road width, at least 3.50 metres. This therefore does not mean all passage in both directions is prohibited.

What drivers should note

Drivers are asked to follow temporary signs and the marshals’ instructions. The release provides no waiting-time estimate, specific diversion or restriction covering the entire Athens–Lamia motorway.
