Seated movement: a simple ankle exercise
Gentle foot movement without equipment or rushing.

Support and comfort
Sit upright on a stable chair without wheels. Hold its sides and gently straighten one leg with the foot just above the floor.
Toes away, then towards you
Point the toes away and then towards your body without sudden movement. The NHS guide suggests two sets of five movements per foot. Start with fewer if necessary.
A break, not a substitute for movement
Combine the break with your usual movement during the day. Stop if painful. If you have an injury or doubt about the exercise, ask a health professional.
