Digital Work Card becomes mandatory in additional sectors
Full implementation now covers health, telecommunications, hair salons and cleaning services among others. A further expansion is scheduled for 16 November.

Greece's Digital Work Card enters full operation in additional sectors on Monday 12 October 2026, making digital recording of arrival and departure mandatory for employees covered by the measure.
Sectors entering the system
The expansion includes hospitals, therapeutic and diagnostic centres — excluding doctors — as well as telecommunications, employment-support services, hair salons and beauty centres, laundries and services cleaning buildings and outdoor areas.
Figures presented by the Labour Ministry indicate that about 500,000 additional workers enter the system, raising total coverage to about 2.5 million. These numbers are attributed to the ministry.
Next expansion on 16 November
A second phase remains in pilot operation until 15 November. Full implementation is scheduled from 16 November for consultancy, advertising and other office activities, repairs, warehousing and transport support, water and wastewater management, and gambling.
What the measure records
The card digitally records the actual start and end of work. Labour Minister Niki Kerameus said the measure helps record overtime; this is the ministry's official assessment, while implementation and enforcement must be judged in practice.
