Poland: Nawrocki announces consultations over the Constitutional Tribunal
The president’s official statement calls for parliamentary representatives to meet on 31 October. Allegations of a breach of constitutional order are attributed to him.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has announced urgent consultations with representatives of parliamentary groupings for 31 October, amid the confrontation over the Constitutional Tribunal. His statement is published on the official presidential website in Polish and English.
The positions of the two sides
Nawrocki alleges a breach of constitutional order and the forcible takeover of a state institution. He calls for the withdrawal of forces which, he says, the government sent to the tribunal’s premises. These are the president’s allegations and legal assessments, not a judicial finding established by his statement.
The president also says he consulted the First President of the Supreme Court and facilitated access for Constitutional Tribunal Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański.
By contrast, ERTnews reports that Prime Minister Donald Tusk defends the government’s actions as an effort to restore the rule of law. The legality of the actions remains the subject of institutional and political dispute.
The presidential statement establishes the announcement of consultations; it does not announce their completion, an agreement between the sides or a final judicial resolution.
