Acceptance firings of SPIKE NLOS and ER guided missiles took place on 21 October 2026 in the wider northern Cretan Sea, according to a Hellenic Navy announcement published on 23 October.

Test platforms

The launches were conducted from a Machitis-class gunboat and a MARK-V special-operations craft. The Navy describes them as successful. Greek naval and air units and two Israeli missile-carrying ships participated in the joint training.

A decommissioned target vessel

The target was the decommissioned frigate BOUBOULINA F-463. The announcement attributes its subsequent sinking to a SUT torpedo fired by a submarine, rather than to SPIKE missiles.

The confirmed equipment milestone is the acceptance firings. The announcement does not establish completion of system installation across the entire fleet.
