PASOK tables bill on private debt and primary-home protection
The proposal covers homes and agricultural property, up to 120 instalments and loan-servicer practices. It has been submitted to Parliament and is not law.

A private-debt bill submitted by the PASOK–Movement for Change parliamentary group was tabled on 13 October 2026. Parliament's register records it as submitted, with the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs responsible.
What is proposed
The text includes protection of primary homes and agricultural property in bankruptcy, changes to out-of-court debt mechanisms and measures against unfair loan-servicer practices, as well as provisions for Swiss-franc loans.
Article 4 proposes a scheme of up to 120 monthly instalments for overdue tax, social-security and municipal debts, subject to eligibility conditions and exclusions. This is an opposition proposal, not a newly available debt-settlement service.
The legislative stage
Submission is not parliamentary approval, publication in the Government Gazette or entry into force. Parliament's page does not yet record the start of committee debate. No voting timetable has been verified.
The explanatory memorandum's political assessments are PASOK's positions. They are not adopted here as independently established facts, and the bill is not presented as a government decision.
