€97.845 million allocated to local authorities for natural-disaster damage
The allocation covers restoration works and critical infrastructure. The announcement does not yet list beneficiaries by area, projects or a disbursement timetable.

A total of €97.845 million has been allocated for repairing damage caused by natural disasters, according to a joint announcement by Greece's Ministries of National Economy and Finance and Climate Crisis and Civil Protection on 7 October 2026.
The relevant decisions were issued by Deputy Economy and Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis following a recommendation by the Government Committee for State Aid, chaired by Deputy Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Kostas Katsafados.
Which bodies are covered
The funding is intended for first- and second-tier local authorities, municipal associations and legal entities belonging to local authorities in areas affected by natural events.
It comes under the Special Programme for Natural-Disaster Response and Restoration within the 2026–2030 National Development Programme. The expenditure covers restoration work and the strengthening of critical infrastructure damaged by natural events.
What has not yet been announced
The joint release confirms the total amount and funding framework but does not include a table of regions and municipalities, a detailed project list, decision numbers for individual beneficiaries or a disbursement timetable.
The announcement therefore does not show how much each area will receive or when each project will begin. Those details require individual decisions and implementing administrative acts.
Not a direct compensation scheme
This allocation concerns public bodies and infrastructure. It is not a new compensation platform for residents or businesses and is not accompanied by an invitation for private applicants.
