Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos 1–0 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in the Greek Super League matchday-six derby completed on the evening of Sunday 11 October 2026.

Panagiotis Retsos scored the only goal in the 34th minute. Following a Kostas Fortounis free kick, the Panathinaikos defence did not clear decisively, Remo Freuler headed the ball on and Retsos finished the move with a powerful shot.

Down to ten men from the 66th minute

The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 66th minute when Manolis Saliakas was sent off for a second yellow card. His first booking had come three minutes earlier.

Panathinaikos tried to make use of the numerical advantage but did not equalise. The 1–0 score remained unchanged at the final whistle.

The effect on the standings

The result moved Olympiacos to 13 points, two behind Panathinaikos, who remained on 15 and suffered their first league defeat of the season.
