The secondary teachers’ federation has called three-hour and rolling one-hour stoppages for 5–30 October, under two separate decisions.

The period covered by OLME’s work stoppages for secondary-school teachers runs from Monday, 5 October to Friday, 30 October 2026. The federation published two separate decisions on 2 October.

Three-hour stoppages over evaluation

Decision 152 calls for three-hour stoppages during the first or second shift. OLME links them to its opposition to the implementation of Law 4823/2021, including lesson observation by evaluators.

One-hour stoppages over overtime

Decision 153 calls for nationwide rolling one-hour stoppages over the same period. The federation says it aims to provide union coverage for teachers assigned compulsory overtime.

Information from each school

The decisions call for industrial action but do not set a common time when lessons stop in every school. Families should seek information from their school about possible timetable changes, depending on teachers’ participation.
