OLME: Attica teachers’ work stoppage on 23 October, 08:00–11:00

The three-hour facilitative stoppage is linked to a 09:30 rally at Attica’s Regional Education Directorate. It is not a general school closure.

OLME has called a three-hour work stoppage across Attica on Friday 23 October 2026, 08:00–11:00. The decision appears in announcement 203 of 18 October, also reported by ERT on 20 October.

Rally at 09:30

The federation supports a rally at Attica’s Regional Education Directorate, 24 Xenias Street, near Megaro Mousikis metro station, at 09:30. The stoppage is intended to facilitate participation.

OLME’s account of the case

According to the announcement, teachers Dimitris Chartzoulakis and Chrysa Chotzoglou are due before a disciplinary council that day. OLME links the proceedings to a protest against evaluation and seeks their acquittal. This is the federation’s position, not an independently established finding about the events.

OLME’s reference to possible permanent dismissal concerns a potential sanction. It is not an announcement that dismissal has already been imposed or that the 23 October hearing has produced an outcome.

Check with individual schools

The action concerns Attica, not a nationwide stoppage. Families should check with their school about any changes to lessons depending on teacher participation. Times are Greek local time.
