MotoGP: Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island cancelled

Poor visibility prevented the medical helicopter from operating safely. Organisers are preparing full refunds for Sunday ticketholders and partial refunds for multi-day tickets.

The MotoGP race at Phillip Island was cancelled on Sunday 25 October 2026, following weather-related delays. The Australian Grand Prix Corporation confirmed the decision in an official statement.

Why the race was cancelled

According to the organisers, poor visibility prevented the medical helicopter from operating safely. The event organiser says racing could not take place without that safety requirement being met.

The official live update log also records the cancellation of the Moto2 and Moto3 races. The final outcome for MotoGP is cancellation, rather than another delay to the start.

What was announced about tickets

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation says it is working with ticketing partners to facilitate full refunds for Sunday ticketholders and partial refunds for multi-day ticketholders.

The statement describes a process being prepared; it does not confirm that refunds have already been paid or specify a credit date. Ticketholders should follow instructions from the organiser and their ticket seller.
