Metsovo retains its traditional character and remains lively throughout the year. Begin at the central square and continue through the surrounding lanes. Local cheeses, including Metsovone, and pies offer an introduction to the area's food culture.
A plan with breathing room
Keep the first day in the village: a walk, lunch and a return before dark. For the second, choose just one additional activity after checking access and opening arrangements. Do not make the entire weekend depend on a ski resort: snow cover, weather and facility operations need checking close to departure.
