Updated 29.10.2026 · 16:10, Athens time — What changed

On 29 October 2026, the Justice Ministry invited interested people to send a CV to adr-a@justice.gov.gr by 16 November 2026 for the formation of the Central Mediation Committee. No exact closing hour is announced.

The invitation covers mediators representing professional bodies and, separately, mediators with at least three years of professional experience in their field and experience in mediation. Two regular and two alternate members will be selected from each category. No named members have been selected in this notice.

Updated legislative record

Unlike the stage recorded in the previous update, Parliament’s official file now lists Law 5344/2026, Gazette A 168 of 16 October 2026. Today’s invitation cites Article 127 and Article 155(5). Gazette publication is distinct from commencement of individual provisions; no general conclusion about every pending case is drawn here.

Previous updates — history

What changed: Parliament’s official file now records passage on 15 October 2026, replacing the previous stage of a completed second committee reading.

The Justice Ministry’s “Code of Alternative Dispute Resolution and other provisions” is listed as a passed bill. The same official category specifies that publication in the Government Gazette is pending.

Passage alone is not implementation guidance

The entry confirms a new parliamentary stage, not when each provision enters into force. Readers should not assume that deadlines, charges or mandatory procedures in their own case have already changed solely on the basis of this update.

The earlier draft

The ministry’s information on the submitted text, dated 8 October, described removing employment disputes from mandatory pre-trial mediation, raising monetary thresholds for other cases and removing charges. These details are background to the draft and are not presented here as verified final rules.

Individual changes, amendments and implementation dates require checking the final published text and transitional provisions. Passage alone does not establish an automatic change in every pending case.
