Rhodes: the medieval town, Lindos and summer routes
A guide to sharing your days between history, the sea and the island’s interior.

Give the medieval town time
Rhodes’ medieval town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set aside a dedicated walk rather than adding it when tired after a long excursion. A base near town suits visitors wanting repeated evening walks. If you prefer a beach base, plan a full city visit from there.
Lindos: village and acropolis
Lindos and its acropolis form a separate part of the trip. Avoid combining them with several distant stops. Choose a comfortable time for walking and check official admission information. Leave time for the village too: the day’s interest does not end after its best-known sight.
A day away from the shoreline
Mountain villages and the Attavyros area add another dimension to Rhodes. For a first visit, choose a simple road route with a few stops rather than automatically turning it into a demanding hike. Discuss the plan with your travelling companions; beach-focused visitors may divide their time differently.
A five-day suggestion
Allow two days for town and the seaside near your base, one for Lindos, one for the interior and one free day. Our outline leaves room to return to a favourite place. Mark the areas you want to explore before choosing accommodation, then consider actual journeys rather than spending most of the holiday on the road.
