The European Commission published new sustainable-finance figures on 20 October 2026. It reports a cumulative total above €1.2 trillion since 2021 and around €60 billion of issuance under the European green bond standard since its application.

What the 2025 figure measures

The detailed snapshot records €323.8 billion in capital investment in Taxonomy-aligned activities for financial year 2025. The data covers the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Data was collected through 9 September 2026. The Commission cautions that the figures are not directly comparable with previously published 2024 data, mainly because of changes in company classification.

Not a new application call

This is a snapshot of reported investment, not an announcement of a new Greek subsidy. The figures are not equivalent to government disbursements or a guarantee of investment returns.
