Chania: social grocery and meal support applications open 2–15 November
Online applications for municipal residents meeting the criteria: exclusions, required documents and help with submitting an application.
Chania municipality will accept online applications for its Social Grocery and Meal Provision services from Monday 2 November until midnight on Sunday 15 November 2026. The notice was issued on 30 October and concerns a new application round, not automatic admission.
Who can apply
It covers individuals and households living within the municipality who meet evidence-based criteria for poverty or risk of poverty. Legally resident third-country nationals, stateless people and beneficiaries or applicants for international protection are included. Recipients of the Minimum Guaranteed Income are excluded.
Documents and assistance
Applications go through chania.aitiseispoliton.gr. The official service page requires an identity card or passport and valid residence permit where applicable, the 2025 tax assessment, E1 and E9 forms, plus documents such as a DYPA unemployment certificate, rental agreement, study certificate or KEPA disability assessment where relevant. Supporting documents must be uploaded electronically.
