Funding of up to €7.45 million is being made available to acquire a building for the Athens School of Fine Arts' first student residence, Greece's Education Ministry announced on 12 October.

What it covers

Minister Sofia Zacharaki's decision relates to a call under the ministry's 2026–2030 Sectoral Development Programme. Funding can cover the purchase, renovation and adaptation of a property, necessary studies and related costs.

What it means for students

This is a funding stage toward a new facility. The announcement does not establish that a building has been purchased or that the residence is operating. It provides no bed capacity, delivery date or accommodation application process.

Eligibility and opening details require subsequent acts and information from the School. The amount is a funding ceiling, not an immediate housing allowance paid to students.
