Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) published a revised election calendar on 28 October 2026, moving the first round of presidential and legislative elections to 18 July 2027. The date is confirmed in the council's official detailed schedule.

A second presidential and legislative round, together with local elections, is scheduled for 4 October 2027. Reuters reports that the previous timetable envisaged a first round on 13 December 2026.

What the revised schedule sets out

For the first round, the table schedules campaigning from 15 April to 17 July 2027. Publication of preliminary presidential and legislative results is planned for 22 July and final results for 9 August, following the scheduled challenge process.

In its announcement, CEP links the revision to the electoral decree of 6 October and consultations with security forces, political actors, civil society, the private sector and the government.

A timetable awaiting implementation

Publication confirms the new dates set by the electoral authority. Voting and completion of the individual stages remain future processes. The council's aim of credible and inclusive elections is its stated objective, rather than a finding that every necessary condition has already been secured.
