Updated 28.10.2026 · 12:58, Athens time — What changed

OLME decision 235 of 27 October 2026 adds a stoppage for teachers in Attica and Achaia on 30 October. Its heading specifies 12:00–14:00; the body describes two hours from noon until the end of the shift. A separate 21:00–23:00 stoppage covers Piraeus evening schools.

This supplements ADEDY’s 08:00–12:00 stoppage in those two areas; Thesprotia retains 11:00 until shift end. It does not establish universal school closure or cancelled sailings. Families should check arrangements with their school.

Previous updates — history

The Executive Committee of public-sector union confederation ADEDY has called a work stoppage for Friday 30 October 2026 for workers it represents in Attica, Achaia and Thesprotia. The announcement was published on 22 October.

The confederation says it is supporting international dockworkers' action. Its call concerns public employees in the three areas.

Times and rally locations

  • Attica: stoppage 08:00–12:00. Rally at 10:00 in Piraeus Municipal Theatre Square.
  • Achaia: stoppage 08:00–12:00. Rally at 10:00 at Patras port.
  • Thesprotia: stoppage from 11:00 until the end of the shift. Rally at 11:30 at the entrance to Igoumenitsa's international port.

Although the release describes the action as a four-hour stoppage, it explicitly specifies “until the end of the shift” for Thesprotia, without a common finishing time.

For planned public-service visits

People with public-service appointments in these areas can confirm arrangements with the relevant body. The release does not list offices that will close or establish cancellations of specific ferry sailings.
