European business activity codes: review and update deadline moved to 31 December
AADE extends the deadline. Penalty-free filing requires that no activity-code change has already been declared after 1 March 2026.

The deadline for businesses to review and update their new European business activity codes has moved to 31 December 2026, according to AADE’s 30 October announcement. The authority says the extension follows a decision by its governor.
The process concerns 2025-edition activity codes automatically assigned under the updated European classification of economic activities. Businesses and accountants have additional time to check the mapping and submit necessary changes.
Condition for penalty-free filing
AADE says the relevant declarations may be submitted through 31 December without a penalty provided no activity-code change has already been declared for the head office or a branch after 1 March 2026. The penalty exemption is tied to that specific condition.
Where to update the codes
The process is available in myAADE through Registry & Communication, Change Registry Details and Business Details, using the corresponding options for business or domestic-establishment changes.
For assistance, AADE directs taxpayers to the free 1521 telephone service, Monday–Friday 07:00–20:00, and the my1521 digital platform under changes to activity codes and VAT status.
